<br /> <br />Item No: 6B <br />Meeting Date: November 19, 2014 <br />Type of Business: Other Planning Activity <br /> <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Planning Commission <br />From: Heidi Heller, Planning Associate <br />Item Title/Subject: Industrial District Discussion and Code Amendment <br /> <br /> <br />Staff was researching the I-1, Industrial District, and noticed that the use “warehouses” is <br />listed both as a permitted use and as a conditional use. Staff recommends amending the <br />code to allow it as a permitted use, and delete it from the conditional uses. <br /> <br />Staff also recommends the Planning Commission discuss adding additional uses to the <br />industrial district zoning code to accommodate uses that are currently existing in industrial <br />zoned properties, such as medical supply and pharmaceutical companies. The property <br />at 8400 Coral Sea Street is zoned industrial but the building is an “office park” type <br />building and as such, is not being used by industrial type businesses.
