1008.11 1008.11 (Rev. 11/11) <br /> <br /> <br />1008.11 MISCELLANEOUS SIGNAGE REQUIREMENTS AND PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Signage Allowances for Specific Land Uses: Public or semi public recreational buildings <br />and neighborhood and community centers; public and private education institutions limited <br />to elementary, middle and senior high schools; religious institutions, such as churches, <br />chapels, temples, synagogues; nursing homes, senior assisted living facilities and <br />commercial day care facilities; may be allowed the following signage: (Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br />a. Wall signage not to exceed 100 square feet per principal building. (Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br />b. Ground signage not to exceed 100 square feet, subject to Section 1008.10, Subdivision <br />1e. (Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Traffic-Control Related Sign Regulations: Compliance with the following regulations <br />relative to traffic control is required: (Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> a. No animated or moving sign shall be located or maintained within fifty feet (50') of an <br />intersection at which traffic semaphores are located. (Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> b. No sign shall be designed, located or maintained to obscure or conceal or cause <br />confusion as to any traffic-control sign or device. (Ord. 679, 5-29-01; Ord. 816, 1-22-09) <br /> <br /> c. No sign shall be located or maintained on or over any public street or highway right-of- <br />way unless specifically permitted herein. (Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> d. There shall be no use of revolving beacons, zip flashers, flashing signs or similar devices <br />that would distract automobile or motor vehicle traffic to constitute a safety hazard. (Ord. <br />679, 5-29-01; Ord. 816, 1-22-09) <br /> <br /> e. The sign shall be located or maintained so as not to interfere with the ability of drivers or <br />pedestrians to see any crossroad or crosswalk.
