<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Item No: 5A <br />Meeting Date: July 7, 2010 <br />Type of Business: Action <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> <br />To: Mounds View Planning Commission <br />From: Heidi Heller, Planning Associate <br />Item Title/Subject: Act on Resolution 927-10, Denying a Variance for Reduced Lot <br />Sizes in a Wetland District at Longview Estates; <br /> Planning Case VR2010-0003 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />On Wednesday, June 16, 2010, the Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a <br />variance request by property owner, Eichi, Inc. represented by Paul Harstad. The applicant <br />wants to subdivide a 7.14-acre parcel into single-family lots that would all front Longview Drive. <br /> This property is located in a wetland district, and the City requires properties in wetland <br />districts to be a minimum of 125 feet wide and 20,000 square feet in area. Mr. Harstad <br />requested a variance to allow for reduced lot widths in order to subdivide the frontage on <br />Longview Drive into 10 lots. <br /> <br />On June 16, 2010, the Planning Commission voted to deny Mr. Harstad’s variance request, <br />and they directed staff to prepare a resolution of denial.
