MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 860-07 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO <br />CHAPTER 1102 OF THE MOUNDS VIEW ZONING CODE TO DEFINE “HEALTH <br />AND BEAUTY” USES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has directed that a definition be added to the <br />Zoning Code to define “Health and Beauty” uses; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff, working in consultation with the City Attorney, has <br />prepared a definition to be added to Chapter 1102 of the Mounds View Zoning Code, to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />“Health and Beauty Services: Services performed for the purpose of <br />promoting and maintaining personal health and beauty, including hair <br />salons, fingernail salons, nutrition and diet centers, meditation and yoga <br />clinics, Spa Treatments (such as Facials, Body Wrap Treatments, and <br />Chemical Peels) and Alternative Wellness services (including such <br />activities as Aromatherapy, Acupuncture and Hypnosis) and the like, <br />excluding therapeutic massage or other businesses otherwise defined or <br />regulated by this Code.” <br /> <br />WHEREAS, amending the Zoning Code to incorporate such a definition will <br />serve to clarify the zoning requirements; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Planning Commission concurs that an amendment <br />to the City Code is warranted and justified. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning <br />Commission recommends approval of an amendment to Chapter 1102 of the Mounds <br />View Zoning Code by incorporating the definition for Health and Beauty uses as defined <br />herein. <br /> <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning Commission directs <br />staff to forward this resolution to the City Council prior to approval of the minutes. <br /> <br />Adopted this 7th day of March, 2007. <br /> <br />_____________________________________ <br />Gary Stevenson, Chairperson <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />_____________________________________ <br />James Ericson, Community Development Director <br />(SEAL)
