Community Development Director Ericson indicated that
the development was not in a TIF district, but there is money available that the city has used
before, and the applicant can apply for help. He stated it is usually used in instances of a
blighted property or something similar.

Commissioner Zwirn stated that he read the Medtronic deal and thinks it was a dirty deal. He
indicated that he does not think that TIF should be given for Phase II at all.

Commissioner Scotch stated that she recognizes the hard work that the Economic Development
Coordinator has done, but commented that a lot of people think Mounds View is a laughing
stock for this deal. She indicated it was a hard decision for the City Council to have to make,
and she would not have wanted to make it.
_____________________________________________________________________________

7.
