Mounds View City Council Page Four <br />~egular Meeting April 26, 1993 <br />there was no reason to object to the sidewalks as the citizens/residents <br />didn't have to pay for them. <br />Mayor Linke addressed the .statement regarding Samantha Orduno's report on <br />.the legislation taking away the prosecutions from the City of Mounds View <br />and stated that the City Council was deathly against losing this right at <br />that time and also feels the same way presently. <br />Mayor Linke stated that Mr. Frits owes Mr. Karney an apology because Mr. <br />Karney does prosecute several persons for the City of Mounds View. <br />Mr. Frits asked why there is no report of prosecutions in the paper. <br />Mr. Frits further stated that if Mr. Karney is prosecuting and giving that <br />.information to the papers, then he said he owes Mr. Karney, the County and <br />the Police Department an apology. Is it the paper that is not printing the <br />information? Mr. Frits stated that the citizens of Mounds View need to know <br />what is going on. Mr. Frits stated that he is not a mushroom to be kept in <br />the dark and fed horse manure. <br />Mayor Linke stated that the prosecutions are listed in the St. Paul paper. <br />Mayor Linke explained that the prosecutions are taken by the .newspapers from <br />the court docket. <br />~ir. Frits stated that the Bulletin is the official paper and the City should <br />be on them to print the information in the Bulletin as the City does pay a <br />significant amount of money to print legals and other notices. <br />Councilmember Rickaby stated that the crime committed was probably a felony <br />and that our prosecutors handle misdemeanors and the County prosecutors <br />would handle felonies. <br />Councilmember Quick stated that if this case is a County case then Mr. Frits <br />should call his next door neighbor as his neighbor was the County <br />Commissioner at the time of the crime. <br />Mr. Frits asked why the two perpetrators are not being extradited for this <br />crime and are incarcerated in Georgia. <br />Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, suggested that Mr. Frits call Ramsey <br />County regarding this issue. <br />Alice Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, asked how much money the Contingency Fund <br />started out with and how much is left in this fund at the present time. <br />Frits stated that the City is taking $40,000 per month out of this fund.. <br />Samantha Orduno,.City Administrator, stated that only $50,000 per year is <br />put into the Contingency Fund. Orduno invited Ms. Frits to visit the City <br />Hall offices and examine her records regarding the establishment of <br />~:ontingency Funds in other cities. <br />
