Planning Commission Update <br /> <br />July 20, 2005 <br /> <br />1. Snyders owns the Gas for Less site, Gas for Less is closed, pumps removed. <br />Snyders indicates the demolition will begin shortly, construction thereafter, <br />December opening scheduled. They will stay in MV Square during the <br />construction. <br /> <br />2. Harstad’s Red Oak Estates #3 development will be on the RCWD agenda July 27, <br />2005 <br /> <br />3. Dr. Belting’s PUD Amendment request will be heard by the City Council July 25, <br />2005. <br /> <br />4. Caribou Coffee to open doors on August 6, 2005 <br /> <br />5. Integra has submitted a formal waiver to have their request heard and acted on <br />within the allowed 120 days as provided by MN Statutes. <br /> <br />6. Planning Associate hire process. About ten applications received thus far, <br />deadline to submit an application August 5th. Anticipated start date, Sept 1, 2005. <br /> <br />7. City Hall Remodel project moving forward with plans and specs on the Council <br />agenda for Monday night. Staff has explored relocating to MV Square, <br />Silverview Plaza, the vacant LandCor building or the former school district <br />building across the street, but it looks like city hall operations would move to <br />community center during the remodel, with the PD at the Arden Hills Sheriff <br />station. <br /> <br />8. An offer has been made to Mark Beer, formerly with the Office of the State <br />Auditor, to become the City’s new finance director. Council to approve the hire <br />and compensation package Monday evening. <br /> <br />9. Monday evening, July 18, the Council held a special worksession to get an update <br />from Ramsey County and SHE regarding the County Road J improvements. Four <br />year construction project compressed into a two-year period of time. <br /> <br /> <br />UPCOMING PLANNING CASES <br /> <br />1. Variance to construct a porch in a front yard on Jackson Drive, south of Bronson <br />Drive. <br /> <br />2. Dr. Belting development review for 8,000 square foot single story office building <br />
