Mounds View Planning Commission October 1, 2003
Regular Meeting Page 3
________________________________________________________________________

The Commission indicated that the garage would need to be moved or demolished if the property
owner is not going to build in the immediate future.

Mr. Hoffman agreed to make arrangements to move the garage.

The Commission agreed to grant the property owner one year to move the garage and asked that
the shed and garage removal be added to the Resolution.

Mr. Hoffman indicated he had considered tearing down the home and building a new one in its
place and asked whether the City has any options for helping with the demolition.

Mr. Ericson indicated the City has assisted property owners with demolition assistance through
the housing replacement program. He then said there are two options one is the City purchasing
the property demolishing the home and reselling the property to a developer. The second is to
offer demolition assistance to the existing homeowner.
