She <br />mentio ed that the five members to be appointed were residents <br />of the orth side of the city and she felt that the remaining <br />member hip should consist of residents from the south side of <br />the ci v. <br />MOTION SECOND: Hankner/Trude to Approve Appointments to the <br />Anoka ounty/Blaine Airport Task Force <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Mayor Linke expressed his appreciation to Councilmember <br />Hankne for her efforts in the establishment of the Airport <br />Task F rce. <br />REPORTS <br />1. <br />C uncilmember Quick: No report. <br />. C uncilmember Blanchard: No report. <br />C uncilmember Hankner: No report. <br />C uncilmember Trude reported that a Federal grant has <br />b en awarded to build a control tower at the Anoka <br />C unty/Blaine Airport. She pointed out a section of the <br />E vironmental Impact Study regarding the airport tower. <br />T e social impact of the airport control tower, according <br />t this study, is that it will not disrupt established <br />c mmunities or disrupt planned development or cause any <br />c anges in roadway traffic patterns. The Environmental <br />I pact Study states there are no social impacts <br />a ticipated. Any residents disagreeing with that should <br />a tend the meeting at Blaine City Hall on April 19, at <br />7 00 p.m., and testify their opinion that it will impact <br />o r community. <br />T ere are two theories: (1) The control tower would be <br />a improvement because it would keep aircraft higher and <br />k ep them north of County Road J. (2) Air traffic will <br />i crease because the level of safety offered at this <br />airport will be better. The control tower will enable a <br />h lding pattern that could cause planes to circle over <br />r sidential areas. <br />C uncilmember Trude reported that Property Tax Notices <br />h ve gone out.
