Mounds View City Council Page 13
Regular Meeting May 22, 1995
E. Consideration and Formal Introduction of Ordinance No. 563
Amending the Municipal Code of Mounds View by AmendincL Chapter
105, Section 105.04, Subdivision 3 Entitled, "Agenda Meetings"
Mayor Linke explained that the City Council Agenda Work
Sessions were normally held the first Monday of every month,
beginning at 7:00 p.m. Those meetings have been running
exceedingly late and this Ordinance would change the starting
time of those Work Sessions to 6:00 p.m.
This Ordinance would also allow the Agenda Meetings to be
called to order and the regular business of the Council to be
conducted if the Mayor and three Councilmembers are present,
rather than four Councilmembers. Regular City Council
Meetings would remain at the present scheduled time.
Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, said that she had
received input from residents stating that they would prefer
the earlier starting time for the Agenda Meetings.
MOTION~SECOND: Quick/Trude to Approve the Introduction of
Ordinance No. 563 Amending the Municipal Code of Mounds View
by Amending Chapter 105," Section 105.04, Subdivision 3
Entitled, Agenda Meetings
VOTE: 3 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
F. Consideration to Authorize Staff to Advertise for an Intern to
Fill the Vacant Position of Assistant to the City
Administrator
Mayor Linke said that the position of Assistant to the City
Administrator had been left vacant by Tim Cruikshank, who had
accepted the position as City Administrator of another
community. The City staff has felt the additional burden of
the work previously done by Mr. Cruikshank and is in need of
a replacement. This position has historically been a starting
position for someone with little experience and low pay, an
opportunity for someone to receive their training from the
City.
MOTION,f SECOND: Linke/Quick to Authorize Staff to Advertise
for an Intern to Fill the Vacant Position of Assistant to the
City Administrator
VOTE: 3 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
•
