Regular Meeting June 26, 1995 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to Adopt Ordinance No. 564 <br />Relating to Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants and <br />Amending Chapter 504, Sections 504.06 and 504.13 of the Mounds <br />View City Code as revised to indicate in Section 3, <br />Subdivision 6, that peddlers and solicitors may conduct their <br />business only between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />Mayor Linke Yes <br />Councilmember Blanchard Yes <br />Councilmember Trude Yes <br />Councilmember Quick Yes <br />Councilmember Hankner Yes <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Councilmember Trude advised residents this Ordinance allows <br />the ability to post a "No Peddler" sign so they have to <br />peacefully leave the premises if requested to do so. If they <br />don't, the resident can call the Police Department and report <br />them for violation of the Code. <br />• <br />Ms. Orduno added the peddler must also produce the license, if <br />asked to do so, and if they do not, the resident can call the <br />Police Department. <br />Duane McCarty suggested the peddlers/solicitors be required to <br />have a picture badge which could be clipped to their shirt. <br />He asked if the City recoups their expenses when granting this <br />type of license. <br />Ms. Orduno stated the City probably does not. <br />Mr. McCarty suggested the Council review the license ordinance <br />to assure the City recaptures those costs. <br />REPORTS <br />1. Report of Councilmembers: <br />Councilmember Quick: No report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported the Senior Picnic was <br />held on June 21, 1995, about one hundred seniors <br />attended, and all had a good time. <br />Councilmember Hankner: No report. <br />
