CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> NOTICE OF CHARTER COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING <br /> NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mounds View Charter <br /> Commission will hold a public hearing Monday, January 9, 1985 <br /> at 7 : 30 p.m. at Mounds View City Hall , 2401 Highway 10, <br /> Mounds View, MN to consider the following amendments to the <br /> Mounds View City Charter. <br /> 1 . Amend Section 4. 01 . The Regular Municipal Election <br /> to read : <br /> "A regular municipal election shall be held on the <br /> first Tuesday after the first Monday in (month to be <br /> determined) of each ( odd or even ) numbered years <br /> commencing (year to be determined) at such places as <br /> the City Council shall designate. At least fifteen <br /> days prior , notice shall be given by the Clerk- <br /> Administrator by posting a notice thereof in at least <br /> one public place in each election precinct, and by <br /> publishing a notice thereof at least once in the <br /> official newspaper of the City stating the time and <br /> the place of holding such election and of the <br /> officers to be elected . Failure to give such notice <br /> shall not invalidate such election. Elected and <br /> qualified officers provided for by this Charter shall <br /> asssume the duties of office to which they were <br /> elected on the first business day in (month to be <br /> determined) following such election. " <br /> 2. Add to Section 4. 05 Vacancy of Municipal Elected <br /> Office the following Subdivision 7. Should a <br /> councilmember or mayor seek another elected office, <br /> and still have ( 1 ) or more years to serve on their <br /> present term of office , that person must resign from <br /> their present office in time to allow their council <br /> seat to be added to the general or special election. <br /> Anyone desiring to be heard with reference to this matter <br /> may be heard at this meeting. <br /> rfir /Or <br /> Don:ld Pau 0111 <br /> Clerk-Admini . • <br /> Bulletin : January 2, 1985 <br />
