Business Synopsis - (continued) <br /> (c) By duly passed motion, both proposed amendments to the city <br /> charter were dropped from further consideration at this time. <br /> 2. A motion was duly passed by the Mounds View Charter Commission on <br /> December 19, 1985, which allows the City Council of Mounds View <br /> to amend the City Charter by Ordinance with a unanimous vote of <br /> the council, amending Chapter 4, Section 4.02, to read as follows: <br /> "Sec 4.02. Filing for Office. No earlier than fifty-six <br /> days nor later than forty-two days before any municipal <br /> election, any resident of the city qualified under state <br /> law for elective office may, by filing an affidavit and by <br /> paying a filing fee to the clerk-administrator in an amount <br /> as set by ordinance, have his/her name placed on the municipal <br /> election ballot." <br /> (a) The purpose of this amendment is to bring the Charter into <br /> conformance with state law (Minnesota Statute 1984, Section <br /> 205.13, Sub 1) which changes the number of days to which a <br /> candidate may file for a municipal office. <br /> 3. 1986 meeting dates scheduled for the second Wednesday of each quarter; <br /> such meetings to be called at the discretion of the Chairman: <br /> March 12, 1986 <br /> June 11, 1986 <br /> September 10, 1986 <br /> December 10, 1986 <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> / <br /> Ruth ite, Secretary <br /> Mounds View Charter Commission <br /> /rjw <br /> cc: Clerk-Administrator <br /> City of Mounds View <br />
