Mounds View Charter Commission Page Two <br /> March 14, 1991 <br /> W. Old Business <br /> Secretary J. Kavanaugh noted that former secretary J. Miller had <br /> submitted the annual report to Chief Judge Joanne Smith as required <br /> by Minnesota Statutes 410.5. <br /> V. New Business <br /> Chairperson Burgers related that there was no new business as such <br /> but believed it was important for commission members to maintain the <br /> semi-annual meeting schedule with new commission officers and <br /> members, Chairperson Burgers believed it is worthwhile for commission <br /> members to familiarize themselves with commission procedures and <br /> meet each other. <br /> Commission members who were present each introduced themselves, <br /> provided brief biographical information and related their interest in <br /> membership on the Charter Commission. <br /> E. Trettel requested that a review of the Charter be presented by a <br /> knowledgeable person at a future meeting. He indicated he would <br /> appreciate receiving information concerning how the Charter was <br /> formed and the major features. <br /> Several other commission members expressed an interest in receiving <br /> this type of informationand conducting a discussion concerning the <br /> purpose of the charter and the powers contained therein. <br /> Councilperson Quick related that he knew of several persons who may <br /> be able to provide this information. <br /> Chairman Burgers will obtain the names of persons who may be able <br /> to present this information and contact someone before the next <br /> meeting. <br />
