RESOLUTION NO. 4607 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> STATE ON MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> DECLARING INSUFFICIENT THE INITIATIVE PETITION <br /> PROPOSING AN ORDINANCE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF <br /> TOTAL TERMS FOR WHICH A PERSON COULD FILE <br /> FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR OR CITY COUNCIL. <br /> WHEREAS , an Initiative Petition, sponsored by eight registered voters of <br /> the City, proposing an ordinance to limit the number of total terms for <br /> which & person could file for the office of Mayor or City Council has <br /> been filed in the Office of the Clerk-Administrator; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Charter requires the Clerk-Administrator to examine <br /> the Petition as to its sufficiency and report to the Council within 10 <br /> days ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the Council , by Resolution-, will determine the sufficiency of <br /> the Petition; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City Charter, Chapter 5 , Sections 5 . 02 and 5 . 03 set forth <br /> the general provisions for petitions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the attached Petition does not meet the provisions of the City <br /> Charter, Chapter 5 , Sections 5 . 02 and 5 . 03 . <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council in and for the City of <br /> Mounds View does hereby declare Insufficient the attached Initiative <br /> Petition for a proposed ordinance to limit the number of total terms for <br /> which a person could file for the office of Mayor or City Council . <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council does hereby direct the <br /> Clerk-Administrator to deliver to the Sponsoring Committee, via first <br /> class mail, this resolution, a copy of the Petition and a written <br /> statement of the Initiative' s defects, as required by City Charter, <br /> Chapter _5 , Section 5 . 04 . <br /> Attest : <br /> Mayor <br /> (Seal) <br /> City Administrator <br />
