Roll Call: Present: Russ Warren, Richard Oman, Leon Burton, Diane Wuori, Dave <br /> 8 Long, Duane McCarty, Rhonda Smieja, Roger Stigney. Absent: Ruth White, Jean <br /> 9 Miller, Bill Wilson, Julie Trude. Unexcused Absences: Michael McGlone, Laurie <br /> 10 Schley, Bill Werner. Also present: Chuck Whiting, Clerk Administrator and Dave <br /> 11 Long, City Attorney. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Motion by Duane McCarty, Second by Dave Long to approve the Roll Call as <br /> 14 listed. Vote: 8 ayes; 1 abstention. Motion Carried. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Duane McCarty, Second by Leon Burton to <br /> 17 approve the minutes of the Charter Commission meeting on March 20, 1997 as <br /> 18 presented. Vote: All Ayes. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 4. Charter Commission Business: <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Motion by Duane McCarty, Second by Dave Long to strike Section 4.02, renumber <br /> 23 accordingly and accept the remainder of Chapter 4. Vote: 8 ayes; 1 nay. Motion <br /> 24 Carried. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Motion by Richard Oman, Second by Leon Burton to publish in the July/August <br /> 27 edition of the City Newsletter information concerning statute of term limits in the <br /> 28 City of Mounds View and that the Charter Commission hold a Public Hearing <br /> 29 before sending the Charter recommendation to the City Council. Vote: 8 ayes; <br /> 30 1 nay. Motion Carried. <br /> 31. <br /> 32 Motion by Russ Warren, Second by Diane Wuori to strike Section 4.03 as written. <br /> 33_ _- MotionandSecond agreed to set aside. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Motion by Richard Oman to strike Section 4.06 from the Charter. Motion failed for <br /> 36 lack of a Second. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Motion by Bill Werner to (add) and delete language in Section 4.07, Subd.5, Line 10, <br /> 39 center; "However if the vacancy occurs (within 120 days of the regular municipal <br /> 40 election) in the office of either/or both of the two Council members whose terms are <br /> 41 not up for election, • - - . .. . . . • - . .. .. <br /> 42 ; ; ; .. - - : - -- • . • . . • . •.
