MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> 410 MINUTES <br /> The first meeting of the newly appointed Charter Commission of the City <br /> of Mounds View was called to order by member, Duane McCarty, at 9:00 P.M. <br /> on Monday, November 20, 1978, at the Mounds View City Hall, 2401 Highway 10, <br /> Mounds View, Minnesota 55112. <br /> 'Members Present: <br /> Bill_Doty Lowell Nygaard. Ruth White <br /> Bill Werner Richard Lykke Milan .Illig <br /> Curt Schmidt Walter Skiba Dave Notaro <br /> Carol Ziebarth Neil Loeding Duane McCarty <br /> ABSENT: James H. Wills <br /> DECLINED APPOINTMENT: Blanche Abbott <br /> Cathy Roth <br /> Member, Duane McCarty, suggested Curt Schmidt act as Temporary Chairman <br /> of the Commission in order to do business. Position accepted by Schmidt <br /> and unanimously concurred by commission members. <br /> The first order of business was a request for nominations for the office <br /> 411/ of Permanent Chairman of the Charter Commission. <br /> Unanimous agreement for secret paper balloting. <br /> The following persons were nominated for the position of Chairman of the <br /> Commission: <br /> Bill Doty motion made by Duane McCarty and seconded by Dick Lykke. <br /> Curt Schmidt - motion made by Dave Notaro and seconded by Carol Ziebarth. <br /> Motion made, seconded and passed that nominations be closed. <br /> Brief statements were made by each nominee as to their qualifications for the <br /> position, and indicated their goals and stated what they thought the objectives <br /> of the Commission should be. <br /> Bill Doty was elected Chairman of the Commission. Vote: 10 - 2 <br /> The following persons were nominated for the position of Vice Chairman: <br /> • Neil Loeding - motion made by Duane McCarty and seconded by L. Nygaard. <br /> Curt Schmidt - motion made by Dave Notaro and seconded by Ruth White. <br /> Dave Notaro - motion made by Carol Ziebarth. Mr. Notaro asked that his <br /> name be removed from nomination, thereupon Carol Ziebarth <br /> 91 withdrew her nomination. <br />
