Mounds View City Council August 13, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron thanked all of the residents who hosted and attended a National Night <br />Out party. He stated he was thrilled to see so many members of the community participating in <br />this great community event. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause commented he was able to attend five neighborhood parties on <br />National Night Out. He stated he appreciated all who were able to attend these events. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending an NYFS Human Resources <br />Committee meeting on Wednesday. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked all members of the community who hosted or attended a National Night <br />Out party. She also appreciated the fact that the City Council, Police Department, Fire <br />Department and Irondale Marching Band were able to make this night memorable. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller encouraged residents to vote during the Primary Election on Tuesday, August <br />14th. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be holding their next meeting on <br />Tuesday, August 14th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. She reported volunteers were still needed for this <br />year’s event. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer reported he would be attending a meeting with the Ramsey County <br />Finance Department this week where upcoming tax information for 2019 will be discussed. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson stated the Business Park North project was underway and <br />curbing was being poured. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson explained the Traffic Committee would be meeting this week to <br />discuss two items and recommendations would be made to the City Council. <br /> <br />Police Chief Harder provided the Council with information on Ghana Fest which would be held <br />on Saturday, August 25th at Silver View Park at 1:00 p.m. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund commented on an issue with the SBM Fire Department. He noted <br />one of the member cities has requested a change to the contract. He reported Blaine and Mounds <br />View support the existing contract model, while Spring Lake Park was working to resolve an <br />issue. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained he received a question regarding various motorized and <br />un-motorized vehicles. He provided a summary document to the Council from the State of <br />Minnesota regarding scooters, golf carts, motorized bicycles, etc. and noted this information <br />would be placed on the City’s website. <br />
