MOUtrmiEv <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 5.1a. <br />Meeting Date: October 8, 2018 <br />Type of Business: Council Consent <br />Administrator review: v <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9018, Designating Polling Places for the 2019 Elections <br />Background <br />State law requires that the City Council designate the polling places for the 2019 elections. <br />We are required to do this even if there have no regularly scheduled elections, as this will <br />cover any special elections that may be held. <br />nicn-, iccinn <br />The Community Center has been Mounds View's designated polling place for the City's four <br />(4) precincts since the year 2000. The Community Center continues to be a convenient <br />location for Mounds View constituents to cast their ballots. Polling places are to be designated <br />and Ramsey County Elections is to be notified of City Council's polling place decision by <br />November 16t" <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 9018 designating polling places for the 2019 <br />elections. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />R Sue Ewald <br />Human Resources Coordinator <br />
