Mounds View City Council October 8, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br />1 Mayor Mueller asked when Mr. Munsterman's sod was installed. City Administrator Zikmund <br />2 commented the sod was installed early enough that sod failed and was replaced, but noted Mr. <br />3 Munsterman did not call and request a replacement at the time. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Mueller asked how much it would cost the City to purchase sod and dirt to rectify the <br />6 situation. City Administrator Zikmund explained sod was approximately $4.75 per roll and <br />7 estimated 20 rolls were needed. He anticipated the City could add this onto a project to be <br />8 completed next spring. Finance Director Beer cautioned the Council from setting a precedent on <br />9 this. <br />10 <br />11 Council Member Hull agreed the Council did not want to set a precedent but also understood Mr. <br />12 Munsterman took great care of his yard. For this reason, he stated he could support the dirt and <br />13 sod replacement. <br />14 <br />15 Council Member Gunn commented she understood the Council should use caution when <br />16 addressing this matter, but stated she could support the replacement of Mr. Munsterman's sod. <br />17 <br />18 Council Member Bergeron stated he supported the sod replacement and noted this was not an <br />19 item of precedent but rather each request would be considered on a case by case basis. <br />20 <br />21 Mayor Mueller explained she supported the sod replacement. <br />22 <br />23 Council Member Hull suggested a cap be set on the sod replacement at $150. <br />24 <br />25 City Administrator Zikmund reported the City Council would be holding a strategic planning <br />26 retreat on Monday, October 15th. He stated the Council would be addressing public safety on <br />27 Monday, October 29th. He requested the Council find a time to meet with Police Chief Harder in <br />28 the coming weeks in order to review the draft Police policy prior to the October 29th meeting. <br />29 <br />30 City Administrator Zikmund stated the Candidate Forum would be held on Thursday, October <br />31 18th at 7:00 p.m. <br />32 <br />33 Bob King, Mounds View Police Foundation, encouraged the public to attend the Mounds View <br />34 Lions Waffle Breakfast at the Community Center on Saturday, November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to <br />35 12:00 p.m. <br />36 <br />37 Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee would be holding its final meeting of <br />38 the year on Tuesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. She explained this <br />39 group was looking for volunteers to assist with planning the 2019 Festival in the Park. <br />40 <br />41 C.
