Item No: 5.E.
Meeting Date: January 28, 2019
Type of Business: Council Consent
Administrator Review: _____

City of Mounds View Staff Report
To: Honorable Mayor and City Council
From: Mark Beer, Finance Director
Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9070 Authorizing Kerrie Kane to Attend
the INCODE Conference

The City utilizes INCODE software for the City’s financial software. Kerrie Kane was recently
promoted to the Utility Billing/Accounts Payable Technician after the retirement of her
predecessor. She received training from the retiring employee prior to her retirement. It
would be very beneficial to further that training and enable Kerry to gain additional
knowledge on the functions and features available within the software. We have received
favorable feedback from other Cities whose staff have attended this conference. This has
been a budgeted item for several years but staff schedules have not provided for an
opportunity to go. The INCODE conference is in Dallas, TX and the dates are April 8-10.
Early registration will save $250. The conference, hotel, and travel costs will be
approximately $2,500 and have been budgeted in the water and sanitary sewer funds. Staff
recommends that the Council authorize Kerrie Kane to attend the conference.

Respectfully Submitted,

____________________
Mark Beer
