RESOLUTION 9083 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE 2019 PUBLIC WORKS SEASONAL POSITIONS <br />WHEREAS, resolution 5546 requires that seasonal positions must be approved by the <br />Mounds View City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, seasonal employees benefit the City by providing labor services that are <br />relatively less expensive and are available during periods of greater labor; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View Public Works Department does have a need to <br />hire seasonal employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is recommending that seasonal positions <br />be approved for two periods throughout 2019; and <br />WHEREAS, said periods are Summer and Fall; and <br />WHEREAS, for 2019, Staff is recommending that new hires start at the hourly rate of <br />$12.50/hour and returning seasonal workers would be compensated at $13.00/hour. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The 2019 Summer Seasonal Public Works Positions are approved — a total of <br />seven (7) positions. These positions would start in approximately mid -to late -May <br />2019 and terminate in mid -to late -August 2019. However, one (1) Utilities Division <br />and one (1) Parks Division seasonal employee typically begin employment in <br />2. The 2019 Fall Seasonal Public Works Positions are approved - a total of two (2) <br />positions in the Parks Division of Public Works. These positions would start <br />approximately in mid to late August 2019 and terminate by the end of the year, <br />weather permitting. <br />3. All Public Works seasonal positions will be filled with new hires starting at an <br />hourly rate of $12.50/hour. Returning seasonal workers will be compensated at <br />an hourly wage of $13.00/hour. <br />4. Each seasonal position may work up to forty (40) hours per week. <br />5. The duration of the Public Works seasonal positions shall not exceed 119 <br />calendar days. <br />
