RESOLUTION N0.7227 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING A PERMIT APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY CHARITIES OF MINNESOTA, <br />A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION TO CONDUCT CHARITABLE GAMBLING AT THE <br />MERMAID LOCATED AT 2200 COUNTY HIGHWAY 10 <br />WHEREAS, Community Charities of Minnesota, anon-profit charitable organization, <br />would like to renew their charitable gambling permit at The Mermaid located at 2200 County <br />Highway 10 in Mounds View; and <br />WHEREAS, the Gambling Control Board requires that the local unit of government <br />pass a resolution specifically approving or denying requests to conduct charitable gambling; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Staff reported at the February 11, 2008, City Council Meeting, that the <br />organization was not able to give contributions to the trade area in 2007 due to a theft in <br />December of 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff will be reporting back to the Mounds View City Council in three <br />months to update the City Council on the status of Community Charities of Minnesota's <br />contributions to the trade area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby authorize Community Charities of Minnesota to conduct charitable gambling at The <br />Mermaid located at 2200 County Highway 10, subject to City Council review on a quarterly <br />basis. <br />Adopted this 25th day of February, 2008. <br />r~ <br />"~~ ~~ ~.. <br />~. <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />~~ Vvw Z~ <br />Jim Ericson, Interim City Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
