RESOLUTION NO. 7229 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING JAMES ERICSON TO THE POSITION OF <br />MOUNDS VIEW CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR <br />WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council, the Clerk -Administrator <br />position was advertised; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council sought proposals from recruitment professionals, and decided <br />on Springsted to assist the City in the Clerk-Administrator recruitment process; and <br />WHEREAS, three candidates were identified and interviewed by the City Council on <br />Saturday, February 9, 2008; and, <br />WHEREAS, James Ericson's skills and experience most closely matched the identified <br />needs of the City; and- <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Ericson consented to a criminal background check, which were performed, <br />and the results of which revealed nothing of note; and <br />WHEREAS, at the March 24, 2008, Executive Session, Mr. Ericson accepted the position <br />under the terms and conditions of his employment agreement negotiated between the parties; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints James <br />Ericson as the City of Mounds View Clerk-Administrator to begin effective February 11, 2008. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that wage compensation will be consistent with the <br />employment agreement, negotiated between the parties. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mr. Ericson shall serve at the will of the Council and may <br />be terminated with or without cause at any time. Severance and separation compensation shall be <br />consistent with the employment agreement and the City's personnel policies. <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the employment agreement negotiated between the <br />parties will be incorporated into a written contract for final acknowledgement by the City Council and <br />execution by the parties. <br />Adopted this 24th day of March, 2008. <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />James Ericson, Interim City Administrator <br />(SEAL) <br />
