RESOLUTION 7273 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, SETTING A BID DATE, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE <br />2008 STREET MAINTENANCE PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, on January 28, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution <br />7213 authorizing the preparation of a preliminary feasibility report and the <br />selection of a consultant for the 2008 Street Maintenance Project; and <br />WHEREAS, on the basis of the City Council action, a feasibility report has <br />been prepared and has been submitted for review by the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 11, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution <br />7222 setting a March 10, 2008 Public Improvement Hearing date for the 2008 <br />Street Maintenance Project; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 10, 2008 the City Council held the Public Hearing <br />for this project and subsequently approved Resolution 7234 approving the <br />Feasibility Report, ordering the project, authorizing the preparation of plan and <br />specifications, and approving a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Spring <br />Lake Park; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 24, 2008 the City Council approved minor <br />modifications to the proposed contract improvements, deleting seal coating of the <br />Sally Port and Police Department parking lots and including the sealing of <br />existing cracks on streets within the project area; and <br />WHEREAS, plans and specifications for this project have been prepared <br />in accordance with the approved Feasibility Report and subsequent minor <br />modifications; and <br />WHEREAS, the estimated total project cost is $283,175.00 based on the <br />plans and specifications, of which the Mounds View portion is estimated at <br />$176,470.75; and <br />WHEREAS, as per state statute, with an estimated contract amount in <br />excess of $100,000, publication must be made at least three weeks before the <br />last day to submit bids; and <br />WHEREAS, a June 12, 2008, 10:00 A.M. bid date will provide sufficient <br />time to provide the required notification to contractors as per state statute. <br />
