We have a few questions on each notice that I hope you might know
the answers or help convey them to the public hearing as we will be unable to attend.
First notice - the lower Co. Rd H parking lot bus entrance widening:
No issues on the width, but we have concerns about the kids that walk out that end and cross Co. Rd
H. Are there plans to make a sidewalk along the bus entrance and a cross walk so they can cross Co.
Rd H without getting hit? The busses do have more kids around them for pickup and drop off as
seen at the old spot by the main entrance. Kids crossing led to a prop to stop being placed in the
middle of Edgewood drive. Also a sidewalk along the south edge of the school property outside the
chain link fence along the football field, would be a great safety addition so pedestrians can have
access without having to walk through the parking lot with bus traffic or cross Co. Rd H at Edgewood
and then cross back again to get to the bus area.
Second notice, the upper addition and parking lot variance to 0' setback and new upper addition:
If we understand correctly the idea of the setback is to match the parking lot to the front parking so
there will be zero feet between the sidewalk and parking lot. This has a concern that someone may
inadvertently drive forward and hit a pedestrian on the side walk. Will there be some sort of barrier
system between the sidewalk and parking lot so this will not be an issue or possible accident? Also
where is snow removal going to be as this area was where they pushed snow accumulations during
winter months and huge piles?
