RESOLUTION 9091 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING AE2S INC. (ADVANCED ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC.) TO PERFORM A WATER ASSESSMENT AND CONTINUE PREPARING A MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE WHEREAS, The Public Works Department has many responsibilities including efficiently operating the water distribution system; and WHEREAS, these treatment systems have been in operation for over 25 years with no major upgrades or repairs to the system; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has discovered that many of the components are obsolete and no longer are available to make repairs; and WHEREAS, there hasn’t been a comprehensive water production management plan completed for the City’s water infrastructure; and WHEREAS, the City has been working with AE2S, for performing a water study and the water production assessment; and WHEREAS, Staff received a proposal form AE2S for fee to perform the water study and continue with Engineering services and design for the water treatment needs in the amounts of $477,500.00; and WHEREAS, in the 2019 Water Operating budget account 700-4823-7050 there is $400,000.00 budgeted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Approves the proposal submitted by AE2S to perform Water Study and Engineering and Design services for the Water Supply and Treatment for a fee of $477,500.00. 2. The City Council approves a budget adjustment to the 2019 Water Fund Budget account 700-4823-7050 in the amount of $77,500.00. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
