Mounds View City Council February 11, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />State Representative Kelly Moller thanked the Council for their time. She explained she was 2 <br />newly elected and represented District 42A. She reviewed the committees she served on and 3 <br />discussed several bills she was working on. She reported she holds monthly chats on the fourth 4 <br />Sunday of every month at Shore 96 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Bergeron encouraged Representative Kelly to consider restoring LGA to the 7 <br />2002 level. He explained this would be helpful to all cities in the metro area. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Meehlhause congratulated Representative Kelly and stated LGA would be a 10 <br />number one priority for him as well. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Mayor Mueller encouraged Representative Kelly to meet with representatives from the League of 13 <br />Minnesota Cities. She thanked Representative Kelly for representing the City of Mounds View. 14 <br />She invited Representative Kelly to attend the City’s Town Hall Meeting on Monday, April 15th. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> B. Swearing in of Officer Alexander Aase. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Police Chief Harder introduced Officer Alexander Aase to the City Council. He administered the 19 <br />Oath of Office to Officer Alexander Aase and his badge was pinned on. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Police Officer Aase introduced his family to the City Council. A round of applause was offered 22 <br />by all in attendance. 23 <br /> 24 <br />8. COUNCIL BUSINESS 25 <br />A. Second Reading and Adoption, Ordinance 954, Amending City Code 26 <br />Chapter 800, Motor Vehicle and Traffic – ROLL CALL VOTE. 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council adopt Ordinance 954 which would amend 29 <br />City Code Chapter 800 regarding motor vehicle and traffic. He reviewed the minor changes that 30 <br />were made to this portion of City Code and recommended approval. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Council Member Gunn stated new residents in the City of Mounds View may not be aware of the 33 <br />City’s No Parking rule. She read the language regarding the City’s No Parking regulations 34 <br />within the Ordinance in full for the record. 35 <br /> 36 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance 37 <br />954, Amending City Code Chapter 800, Motor Vehicle and Traffic. 38 <br /> 39 <br />ROLL CALL: Bergeron/Gunn/Hull/Meehlhause/Mueller. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Mueller asked if a copy of this portion of City Code was available on the City’s website. 42 <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported this portion of code was posted on the City’s website when 43 <br />the First Reading was held and has been posted since that time. 44 <br /> 45
