<br /> Item No: 8I <br />Meeting Date: December 10, 2018 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review: ____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Public Works Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9051, Approving repairs to a Garage Door at the <br />Public Works Facility <br />. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion: <br />Staff accidently backed into one of the garage doors at the Public Works Facility. As the <br />vehicle was entering into the bay, the angle of the sun prevented the employee from <br />observing that the door was coming down therefore rendering damage to the door. The <br />door was inspected and red tagged and then placed out of service. <br /> <br />Staff contacted two garage door companies to receive quotes and was informed that the <br />door was specific to the original manufacturer and they are the only supplier of the <br />garage door. <br /> <br />The cost of the repairs, from Overhead Garage Door of Northland, Eagan MN, is <br />$6,970.73. Staff is also working with the garage door company in adjusting the timing <br />and sensors of the doors to prevent this situation happening again. <br /> <br />The repair and monies were discussed with Finance Director Beer and it was <br />determined to be funded from 730-4823-5130. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff is recommending that the garage door repairs be made from Overhead Garage <br />Door of Northland, Eagan MN, $6,970.73, to be funded from account 730-4823-5130. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Don Peterson <br />Public Works Director <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
