<br />Item No: 8.E. <br />Meeting Date: December 19, 2018 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: ______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9055, Approving the Promotion of Brian Beeman <br />to Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. Beeman began his career with Mounds View in July, 2014 when he was hired as the <br />Business Development Coordinator. About a year ago he transitioned from part time to <br />full time. Additionally, the City has; over the years – has the position of Assistant City <br />Administrator. That position recently went away with the creation and hiring of a full time <br />Human Resource Coordinator. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The decision to create and hire a dedicated Human Resource position has proven its <br />wisdom, especially given the need to hire ten employees (20% of the workforce) this past <br />year. However, it has become apparent to me that having a clear second/assistant <br />remains critical to the strategic goals as well as sustainability of operations. This issue <br />has been discussed at workshop and vetted by the Human Resource Committee.
