Mounds View City Council November 26, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />understood there were concerns with the water table on this property and suggested a 1 <br />representative be present from the watershed district be present at the next neighborhood 2 <br />meeting. He noted this project was early in its concept phase. City Administrator Zikmund 3 <br />reported this was not a City initiative, but rather was being driven by the developer. He 4 <br />explained the developer was pursuing a wetland delineation and the ball was in his court. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Gunn encouraged the developer to talk to the parcel owners to see if they were 7 <br />willing to sell their property. She explained this would not be led by the City. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he attended the neighborhood meeting as well and thanked 10 <br />Council Member Bergeron for his report. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Meehlhause explained he attended a Twin Cities Gateway Board meeting last 13 <br />week at Mickman Brothers. He commented on their Christmas wreath operation. He requested 14 <br />Al Stauffacher and Steve Markuson be invited to attend a Council worksession meeting in 2019. 15 <br />He discussed how the group was working to spend down its reserves and would be prepaying on 16 <br />its agreements for the coming year. He updated the Council on the hospitality tax that had come 17 <br />in for 2018 noting Mounds View was up 15%. He thanked the Mounds View Festival Treasurer 18 <br />for providing the Gateway Board with a letter discussing how funds were spent on this year’s 19 <br />event. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending a LMC/Metro Cities Regional 22 <br />meeting on Thursday, November 29th and stated the YMCA Advisory Committee would be 23 <br />meeting on Monday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council Member Meehlhause encouraged residents to visit Edgewood Middle School on Sunday, 26 <br />December 2nd for the Lions Annual Waffle Breakfast with Santa from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Gunn commented on the free lazy eye screening that would be provided by the 29 <br />Lions at the Waffle Breakfast. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Mueller stated she was looking forward to attending the LMC/Metro Cities Regional 32 <br />meetings on Thursday, November 29th. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee was seeking additional volunteers. It 35 <br />was noted Festival in the Park would be held at Silver View Park on Saturday, August 17, 2019. 36 <br />She commented further on the events that were being planned for the coming year. She indicated 37 <br />the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting next on Tuesday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m. 38 <br />at the Community Center. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Mayor Mueller indicated the Mounds View Police Foundation was seeking additional volunteers. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Mueller thanked all of the Mounds View residents who share their holiday cheer by 43 <br />putting up light displays this time of year. 44 <br /> 45
