RESOLUTION NO. 9098 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 2018 MOUNDS VIEW <br />CITIZEN OF THE YEAR PENNY HOWARD <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens <br />who have demonstrated initiative to improving the community, whose service or performance <br />exemplifies the spirit of giving back and who inspire others in their volunteer efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, nominations were solicited from the public and were reviewed by the City <br />Council; and <br />WHEREAS, Penny Howard, Edgewood Middle School Principal since 1990, was <br />selected for the 2018 award and meets the criteria outlined in the policy; and <br />WHEREAS, Penny Howard has exemplified the courage and determination to follow <br />her values; and <br />WHEREAS, Penny Howard has demonstrated drive and initiative in her approach to <br />citizenship and has worked steadfastly with various community groups and organizations; and <br />WHEREAS, Penny Howard has volunteered a significant amount of time and energy to <br />further community causes and issues; and <br />WHEREAS, her efforts have generated positive results for the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Penny Howard has contributed her efforts unselfishly, not expecting <br />anything in return. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby present the 2018 Mounds View Citizen of the Year to Penny Howard in sincere <br />gratitude and appreciation for her efforts as a long time Mounds View role model. <br />Adopted this 8th day of April, 2019. <br />Mayor Carol A.
