RESOLUTION 9119 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE AMENDMENT TO THE RICE CREEK NORTH <br />REGIONAL TRAIL MASTER PLAN <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has submitted an amendment, attached as Exhibit <br />A, to update the master plan for the Rice Creek North Regional Trail corridor; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2019 master plan amendment incorporates long-term site and <br />infrastructure improvements, recreation improvements, and additional recreational <br />opportunities throughout the regional trail corridor including but not limited to a new <br />trailhead regional trailhead and outdoor recreation area south of County Road I; access <br />drive and bituminous trail connections from County Road I; cross country ski trails, <br />mountain bike trails; improve existing and expand natural surface grass trails; habitat <br />restoration; improved connections to Rice Creek; improve existing and expand <br />bituminous multi -use trails; improvements to existing trail heads focused on increased <br />parking, restrooms, drinking fountains, improved wayfinding signage, and improved <br />canoe/kayak launches; and additional vehicular and pedestrian access points; and <br />enhanced road crossings and at intersections; and additional nature based recreation <br />programing; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View staff have reviewed the plan and supports <br />the amendment of the Rice Creek North Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Minnesota, that the City of Mounds View supports the amendment of the <br />Rice Creek North Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment. <br />Adopted this 28th day of May, 2019 <br />,4T71 E8'I : I <br />Carol A.
