Mounds View City Council May 28, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson reported his staff was busy training in the seasonal workers. He <br />noted the YMCA park programs would begin in two weeks once school was out for the summer. <br />He explained the City Hall/Police remodel bids would be opened on Friday. He indicated the <br />Silver View Park parking lot was removed today. He commented further on the plans for this <br />park along with the project timeline. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson reported the last 12 months have been the wettest in history. He <br />understood the groundwater level was high. He indicated the City was already 6” over normal <br />precipitation levels. He stated the City needs a long stretch of dry weather to dry things out. He <br />commented on the progress that was being made at City Hall Park. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on the City’s compliance efforts with Tires <br />N’More. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained he and Rayla Ewald would be traveling to Eden Prairie <br />for a mediation session with a separated officer, per the officer’s request. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported the legislative session has completed and he was pleased to <br />report LGA would continue. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated on Friday, June 7th the County Road I bridge would be <br />brought down. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund reviewed the workshop agenda for Monday, June 3rd. The Council <br />agreed to discuss the Charter Commission at this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported the City had three eagle scouts that would be recognized by the Council <br />at a future meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn reported the Scouts and the Lions would be cleaning up Mounds View <br />Boulevard on Saturday, June 1st. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn stated on Saturday, June 8th the Mounds View Police Foundation would <br />be hosting a hot dog/bake sale fundraiser at Von Hansen’s Meats from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Theresa Cermak commented on a drawing that was being sponsored by the Festival in the Park <br />Committee where a queen-sized quilt would be given away. <br /> <br />C.
