The Mounds View Vision A Thriving Desirable Community Item No: 08C Meeting Date: June 10, 2019 Type of Business: Council Business City Administrator Review: _____ City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9116, Approving the Renewal of Mounds View Business Licenses expiring June 30, 2019 (Non-Liquor) Introduction: The businesses shown in attached Exhibit A have a current license with the City of Mounds View that will expire June 30, 2019. These businesses are required to renew their license with the City on an annual basis. Each of the businesses listed have applied to the City to renew their license. Discussion: The City has received the appropriate fees, completed and signed renewal applications and proof of adequate insurance where necessary, with the exception of Little Caesar’s. Paperwork has been submitted but we are waiting for payment from the corporate office. We have received satisfactory reports and inspections from the appropriate departments and agencies, including any delinquent water/sewer bills, invoices, and satisfactory fire inspections with the exception of those listed below: Utility Billing - As discussed in the staff report for liquor license renewals, Moe’s American Grill has an outstanding water/sewer bill in the amount of $8,680.64 and Mr. Moritko has requested that the City divide the total amount due in four equal payments with the first payment being due by June 21, 2019 and the remaining three payment due on 21st of each month thereafter. MN Department of Revenue - Only required for Liquor Establishments. Ramsey County Taxation - All property taxes are current to date. Fire Inspection - All properties were inspected for fire code violations. Again, as stated in the liquor license staff report; Moe’s and The Mermaid have reinspections scheduled this month. Monthly Recycling Reports – A contingency of a Garbage/Recycling hauler license is to submit a recycling report to the City each month on a form provided by the City. The following haulers are delinquent: Walters Disposal Service and Advanced Disposal Services. Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Our licensing ordinance and it requirements along with the renewal applications listed relate to our Vision Statement; “…welcoming a desirable destination to all ages and cultures…and a place where residents can live, work and play safely” and by approving the license renewals the City will “….maintain a positive business climate where businesses want to locate and remain in Mounds View”.
