<br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> Item No: 8E <br /> Meeting Date: June 10, 2019 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review: ____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Public Works Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9124 Approving the Replacement of Roof Top Unit #4 <br />at City Hall <br />Background: <br />The compressor and fan failed for the City Hall Roof Top Unit #4, (RTU #4) on June 6, 2019. <br />RTU #4 provides cooling to the Police Administration and Office Area. <br /> <br />This unit is 21 years old and past the year for recommended replacement. <br /> <br />Staff has received a quote from Trane Building Services to replace the unit and program into the <br />BAS system. <br /> <br />The Quote includes new curb adapter, lifting the new unit onto the roof and disposing of the old <br />unit along with programing into the BAS system, <br /> <br />The total quote from Trane is $13,000. This expense is not in the 2019 budget. Staff met with the <br />Finance Director to determine a funding source for the replacement. <br /> <br />A budget adjustment of $13,000 to the Special Project Fund account 480-4180-7030 is required <br />in order to make the necessary replacement of RTU #4. <br /> <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: Budget Adjustment is needed for $13,000, is required to the 2019 Budget, in <br />the Special Project Fund, account 480-4180-7030 for this needed repair. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approving the quotes from Trane Building Services to replace and install RTU <br />#4 at City Hall for a total of $13,000, Staff also recommends the City Council approve a 2019 <br />Budget adjustment of $13,000 to the Special Project Funds account 480-4180-7030 in order to <br />make the needed repairs and replacement of RTU #4. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Don Peterson, Public Works Director <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
