Mounds View City Council May 28, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson reported his staff was busy training in the seasonal workers. He 1 <br />noted the YMCA park programs would begin in two weeks once school was out for the summer. 2 <br />He explained the City Hall/Police remodel bids would be opened on Friday. He indicated the 3 <br />Silver View Park parking lot was removed today. He commented further on the plans for this 4 <br />park along with the project timeline. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Public Works Director Peterson reported the last 12 months have been the wettest in history. He 7 <br />understood the groundwater level was high. He indicated the City was already 6” over normal 8 <br />precipitation levels. He stated the City needs a long stretch of dry weather to dry things out. He 9 <br />commented on the progress that was being made at City Hall Park. 10 <br /> 11 <br />City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on the City’s compliance efforts with Tires 12 <br />N’More. 13 <br /> 14 <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained he and Rayla Ewald would be traveling to Eden Prairie 15 <br />for a mediation session with a separated officer, per the officer’s request. 16 <br /> 17 <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported the legislative session has completed and he was pleased to 18 <br />report LGA would continue. 19 <br /> 20 <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated on Friday, June 7th the County Road I bridge would be 21 <br />brought down. 22 <br /> 23 <br />City Administrator Zikmund reviewed the workshop agenda for Monday, June 3rd. The Council 24 <br />agreed to discuss the Charter Commission at this meeting. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Mayor Mueller reported the City had three eagle scouts that would be recognized by the Council 27 <br />at a future meeting. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Gunn reported the Scouts and the Lions would be cleaning up Mounds View 30 <br />Boulevard on Saturday, June 1st. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Council Member Gunn stated on Saturday, June 8th the Mounds View Police Foundation would 33 <br />be hosting a hot dog/bake sale fundraiser at Von Hansen’s Meats from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Theresa Cermak commented on a drawing that was being sponsored by the Festival in the Park 36 <br />Committee where a queen-sized quilt would be given away. 37 <br /> 38 <br />C.
