Item 08A
Financial Impact:
In considering the Fee, the Council needs to consider the "nexus", between the need (park
funding) and the additional demand of new users associated with new development. Increasing
this Fee would mean less dependence on the Special Projects Fund, to fund discussed projects
such as; completing the Mounds View Blvd trail, Veterans Memorial, band shell, dog park,
pedestrian crossing over Mounds View Blvd, etc.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a Public Hearing, and First Reading and
Introduction of Ordinance 960, Amending City Code Chapter 1204, and the Fee Ordinance,
related to Park Dedication Fees.
A Public Hearing Noticed was published in the June 26, 2019 New Brighton -Mounds View
Bulletin.
Respectfully submitted,
eQx
Jon Sevald, AICP
Community Development Director
ATTACHED
1.
