MOUNDS VIEW Item No:8E <br />Meeting Date: August 12, 2019 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review: <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nate Harder, Chief of Police <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9151 Approving the Purchase of one Police <br />replacement SUV <br />Introduction: <br />The police department has recently had one of our patrol vehicles totaled and is in need <br />to be replaced immediately. <br />Discussion: <br />The department is requesting to purchase one 2019 Ford Police Interceptor Utility <br />vehicle to replace a recently wrecked police interceptor. <br />The Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle is offered at $33,640.45, slightly higher than <br />state bid as it has several extra features but is on site and ready to be picked up <br />immediately. Much of the equipment from the vehicle that was wrecked is not <br />salvageable but we have reutilized as much as possible. The total for set up of this <br />vehicle (equipment, lights, and labor) will be approximately $9015.00. <br />The total purchasing cost and setup for the immediately purchased squad will be <br />approximately $42,655.45 (Fund 460 Department 4200 Account 7040). <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends authorizing the purchase of the 2019 Ford Police Interceptor utility <br />vehicles including all additional equipment and setup costs. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Nate Harder <br />Chief of Police <br />
