MOU__N_DitSVV!rW <br />City of Mounds View Staff R <br />Item No: 5.C. <br />Meeting Date: August 26, 2019 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />City Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9156, Appointing Alexis Bostrom to Police <br />Administrative Assistant <br />Introduction: <br />Resolution 9130 passed on June 24, 2019, which approved the hiring of a Police <br />Records/Evidence Technician. Staff advertised the position however due to a turnover <br />within the Police Department administrative staff there became an urgency to fill the <br />Police Records/Evidence Technician position before the closing date. The Police <br />Administrative Assistant received a promotion to the position of Police Evidence/Records <br />Technician. Police Evidence/Records Technician applicants received notification of the <br />job title/responsibility changes and interviews for the Police Administrative Assistant <br />position progressed. <br />Discussion: <br />The administrative police posting advertised for 10 working days on the City's web site, <br />the League of Minnesota Cities web site, and Indeed.com. Staff received 32 completed <br />application packets by the deadline. Police Department personnel and the Human <br />Resources Coordinator interviewed eight (8) candidates and selected Ms. Alexis Bostrom <br />for the position. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Create a culture where employees desire to work. <br />Financial Impact: <br />This is a budgeted position. <br />Recommendation: <br />The panel is recommending the Council appoint Ms. Alexis Bostrom to the position of <br />Police Administrative Assistant starting September 3, 2019.
