RESOLUTION 735Q <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Approving a Comprehensive Service Agreement with Olsen Fire Protection For Ail <br />Required Fire Services at City Hall and the Community Center <br />WHEREAS, fire protection features such as extinguishers, sprinklers, monitor panels, <br />alarm systems, al! require annual testing and servicing; and, <br />WHEREAS, all City buildings that have these fire protection systems must have these <br />services, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View currently uses four different contractors forthese <br />services which causes confusion to City staff and to the contractors when work needs to be <br />done on any of these systems, and; <br />WHEREAS, using multiple contractors is more expensive than using one contractor for <br />all the same services, and; <br />WHEREAS, City staff received the following three bids to cover all required services: <br />Vendor Base Bid Options <br />Olsen Fire $2,550.00 3-year same price contract <br />Northland $2,532.00 3-year same price contract <br />ECSI $3,633.00 <br />Current $4,007.00 <br />WHEREAS, Olsen Fire has been the most competent, thorough and helpful during <br />this research process. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council approves a <br />three-year guaranteed service agreement with Olsen Fire Protection beginning January 1, <br />2009, to provide all fire inspection and monitoring services to the City of Mounds View and as <br />such authorizes the Mayor and Clerk-Administratorto execute the agreement on behalf of the <br />City. <br />Adopted this 10th day of November 2008. <br />~" ,i,~.~ <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />J ~ ~'~~~ <br />James Ericson, City Administrator <br />{seas} <br />
