Minutes of the Economic Development Commission <br />City of Mounds View <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota <br />Regular Meeting <br />March 15, 2019 <br />City of Mounds View, Council Chambers <br />2401 Mounds View Boulevard, Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Dennis Farmer called the meeting to order at approximately 7:30 a.m. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Members Present: Chair, Dennis Farmer, Commissioners, Jim Freichels, Gary Stevenson, <br />Teresa Muckala, & Dan Larson <br />Members Absent: Vice Chair, Jason Helgemoe <br />Staff Present: Assistant City Administrator, Brian Beeman <br />Meeting Attendees: Bre Grand & Ryan Coddingdon (MnDOT) <br />4. APPROVAL OF MARCH 15, 2019, AGENDA <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Stevenson moved and Commissioner Freichels seconded the <br />approval of the March 15, 2019 EDC agenda. <br />Motion Carried: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays <br />5. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 15, 2019, EDC MINUTES <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Freichels moved and Commissioner Larson seconded the <br />approval of the February 15, 2019 EDC minutes. <br />Motion Carried: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays <br />6. EDC BUSINESS <br />Presentation from MnDOT on 1-35W Projects <br />Bre Grand and Ryan Coddingdon both from MnDOT informed the Commission on several <br />projects slated to begin in April including a new sound wall near Mounds View, a MnPASS lane, <br />some new bridges, and other construction projects along 1-35 that will affect traffic from Lino <br />Lakes to Roseville. The construction process is expected to last three years. Alternative routes <br />were explained and a thorough explanation of each project. Travel time signs will be installed and <br />the traffic lights along Mounds View Boulevard will be synchronized to adjust to traffic flows. <br />Commissioner Muckala asked if the information will be available for the City's website and also if <br />pedestrians will be able to cross Mounds View Boulevard safely and in a timely manner. Mrs. <br />Grand welcomed any comments from the public on safety issues and all comments will be heard <br />and considered and residents are encouraged to contact MnDOT directly. Contact information is <br />posted on the MnDOT website and residents can sign up for construction updates. Commissioner <br />Stevenson asked who can be contacted for the Festival in the Park evets etc. Commissioner <br />Freichels asked where the information can be found on the MnDOT website and recommended <br />temporary signaling along Old Hwy 8 and County Rd H. MnDOT will look into both issues. <br />Commissioner Farmer asked about long-term signaling along Mounds View Boulevard. MnDOT <br />
