Mounds View City Council December 9, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />1 Retreats, and the Town Hall Meeting Dates. <br />2 <br />3 City Administrator Zikmund reviewed the 2020 City Council meeting, council/staff retreats and <br />4 the town hall meeting dates with the Council. He requested the Council discuss when to hold the <br />5 Council retreat and recommended approval of the proposed meeting schedule. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Mueller recommended the Council/staff retreats be held on Monday, March 161h (budget <br />8 discussion), Monday, May 181h (strategic planning), and Monday, September 21" (team building) <br />9 <br />10 Council Member Meehlhause stated he supported the Council attending a team building retreat <br />11 but explained it may be of more value to hold this event earlier in the year. City Administrator <br />12 Zikmund commented the team building retreat could be held in March or May instead of <br />13 September. <br />14 <br />15 The consensus of the Council was to meet on March 161h for a team building retreat and on May <br />16 181h for a budget retreat. It was noted the strategic plan would be addressed at Council <br />17 worksession meetings. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Mueller asked if the Council would have to hold a special meeting on January 6th. City <br />20 Administrator Zikmund reported this was the case. <br />21 <br />22 MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9193, <br />23 Approving the 2020 City Council Meeting, Council/Staff Retreats, and the Town Hall Meeting <br />24 Dates. <br />25 <br />26 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />27 <br />28 D. Resolution 9200, Approving Various Appointments to the City of Mounds <br />29 View's Boards, Commissions and Committees. <br />30 <br />31 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve appointments to the City's boards, <br />32 commissions and committees. He commented on the residents that submitted interest in serving <br />33 the City and recommended approval of the appointments. <br />34 <br />35 Council Member Hull stated he would like to see Ms. Mohammad serving on the Park, <br />36 Recreation and Forestry Commission instead of Mary Zeiger. He indicated he would like to see <br />37 Mary Zeiger replace Gary Rundle on the Planning Commission. <br />38 <br />39 City Administrator Zikmund reported he had spoken with Ms. Mohammad in his office, along <br />40 with Police Chief Harder and she was very excited to be serving ono the Mounds View Police <br />41 Foundation and on the Civil Service Academy. <br />42 <br />43 Council Member Meehlhause indicated the Planning Commission was Mary Zeiger's second <br />44 choice and the Park, Recreation and Forestry Commission was her first choice. He stated another <br />45 option would be to replace Gary Rundle on the Park, Recreation and Forestry Commission with <br />
