Item No. 6 B <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Public Works Director <br />Date: June 28, 2018 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />Maintenance <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Playground repairs on Greenfield Park <br />• Turf Restoration City Hall Park by Water Treatment Plant <br />• Irrigation systems repair <br />• Installed fountains in Silver View storm water pond <br />• Weed spraying at all Parks <br />• Replaced ballfield benches at City Hall <br />• Touch up clean up landscaping at City Hall and Community Center <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Continued inspections for Oak Wilt, EAB and Dutch Elm disease <br />• Letters were sent to residents with Dutch Elm Disease <br />• Worked with contractor in removal of diseased Elm trees <br />• Trimmed Trees at Silver View and Greenfield Park trails <br />The following projects are planned this year. Current updates are in black text, and updates from <br />the previous two month period are in grey. <br />Silver View Park <br />Relocate Disc Golf Course: <br />• Ramsey County started tree removal along County Road I and Silver View Road in order <br />to re -profile the draining ditch on the North and West side of the park. Public Works Staff <br />has received numerous calls with concerns and complaints on the tree removal. <br />• Ramsey County continues to work in re -profiling the draining ditch along County Road I <br />and Silver View Road, located in Silver View Park. <br />City Hall Campus: <br />Irrigation & Landscaping Improvements: <br />• Playground equipment was approved and ordered. <br />• Received Splash Pad plans, contractor currently reviewing for installation costs. <br />• Continue vision planning <br />Groveland Park: <br />Tennis/Basketball Court Rehabilitation (Design): <br />Fred Kolkman working on plans and specs, a couple questions have been asked will be <br />discussed tonight. <br />• City attorney is review the contract documents <br />• Plans and Specs sent out to contractors — bid opening May 30'h at 10:00am. <br />• Tennis Court Rehab Project started Wednesday June 27, 2018 <br />• Asphalt is down, fencing and coating will be completed <br />
