ROLL CALL: <br />Commissioners: Arel, Aukee, Katovich, Kroeger, Kunz, Palm, Rundle, <br /> Staff: Peterson | YMCA: Thomas <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Palm. Motion Passed 7-0 <br />4. SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />A. Reappointment Oath for Dale Aukee by Don Peterson <br />B. Reappointment Oath for Gerald Arel by Don Peterson <br />5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. December 14, 2017: Kroeger suggested a couple of clarifications so noted in the minutes. Motion to <br />approve as amended by Aukee, 2nd by Rundle <br />6. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name and <br />address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. NO RESIDENTS PRESENT. <br />7. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA: See attached report. <br />B. Public Works / Forestry: See attached report. A city staff member is a certified tree inspector and <br />working toward certification to be an arborist! <br />8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Forestry – City Parks, and Green Spaces: Reviewed what the City is doing to comply with standards <br />that qualify Mounds View to be a Tree City USA community. Consider using International Society of <br />Arboriculture (ISA) tree program goals and break down each one over our next meetings. Consider <br />invasive species as a goal or within a goal. Consider what we are doing and what else we can do to <br />address these goals. Discuss Goals 1 and 2 in February. <br />B. Greenfield / Groveland tennis courts – Verbal Report: Staff needs to connect with Fred Kolkman to <br />answer questions with City Attorney so they can put the bid together. <br />9. NEW BUSINESS: <br />A. Recommend Expenditures for Upcoming Bethlehem Baptist Church Disbursement: Security lighting at <br />Silverview Park playground <br />10. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: All Knight Party fundraiser wine tasting event at Moe’s coming in February. <br />11. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS: NONE <br />12. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at 7:38 by Kunz, 2nd by Kroeger. Motion Passed 7-0 <br /> Next Regular Commission Meeting: February 22, 2018 6:30pm
