RESOLUTION 9246 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING SUPPORT OF HF XXXX LEGISATION FOR <br />FIRE STATE AID APPORTIONMENT <br />WHEREAS, police and fire pension plans receive state aid; and <br />WHEREAS, by statute, fire pension aid must be deposited with the relief; and <br />WHEREAS, evolving fire service delivery has caused an increase in combination <br />departments as well as conversions of department from volunteer or combination to <br />career; and <br />WHEREAS, recent situations resulted in the legislature creating task forces to <br />study the issue with recommendations to allow apportionment with recommendation to <br />change the statute; and <br />WHEREAS, relief plans are either locally administered or joined the state and <br />administered by the Public Employees Retirement Association; and <br />WHEREAS, apportionment language exists for local plans but none for state plan <br />members and HFXXXX will provide same permissive language for those locally <br />administered. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />The Mounds View City Council support HF XXX)(or similar legislation that allows <br />apportionment of fire state aid. Furthermore, if policy makers determine a written <br />agreement between the relief and city is required, the City supports. <br />Adopted this 24th day of February, 2020. <br />Carol A.
