RESOLUTION NO. 7404 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZATION TO CREATE AN ELIGIBILITY LIST TO FILL A POLICE OFFICER <br />POSITON <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission maintains an <br />eligibility list for Police Officer Positions, and; <br />WHEREAS, this list has now expired, and the police department anticipates an <br />opening this spring as a result of a retirement, and; <br />WHEREAS, the police officer position is an essential position to the operations of <br />the Police Department, and having a replacement officer in place at the time of the <br />retirement is critical to maintaining uninterrupted continuity of functional Police <br />operations, and; <br />WHEREAS, the replacement officer shall be hired from the new Civil Service <br />eligibility list. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby approve advertising to create a new eligibility list for the position of police officer <br />for the City of Mounds View. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View City <br />Council does herby approve filling the police officer vacancy created by the retirement <br />of a police officer in April of 2009, by hiring an officer consistent with the hiring rules of <br />the Mounds View Civil Service Commission and the Mounds View City Council, with an <br />anticipated start date effective concurrent with the retirement date of the retiring officer. <br />Adopted this 26t" day of January 2009. <br />J Flaherty, Ma <br />ATTEST: ~A , <br />Jim Ericson, City Administrator <br />(SEAL) <br />
