RESOLUTION 9250 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY' <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FOR THE EXTERIOR BUILDING REPAIRS AT WELLS <br />5 AND 6 AND AWARD THE CONTRACT TO WESTERN SPECIALTY CONTRACTORS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council in June of 2018 (Res. 9230) approved Inspec <br />completing the specifications for the masonry building repairs at WTP 2/Well 5 and WTP <br />3/Well 6 and send out to bid; and <br />WHEREAS, On February 27, 2020 Public Works received three proposals for <br />completing this work as follows: <br />• Western Specialty Contractors: base bid of $109.500.00 <br />• Cities Masonry Restoration: base bid of $114,170.00 <br />• Innovative Masonry Restoration Inc. base bid of $196,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, Inspec has reviewed the bids and the lowest responsible bid was <br />received from Western Specialty Contractors of Minneapolis MN; and <br />WHEREAS, The City has reviewed the standard A101 contract that will be used <br />for this project; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Staff along with Inspec recommends the City Council <br />approve the proposal from Western Specialty Contractors for the masonry repairs at WTP <br />2/ Well 5 and WTP 3 / Well 6. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Accepts the Proposal from Western Specialty Contractors with a base bid of <br />$109,500.00 for the masonry repairs at WTP 2/Well 5 and WTP 3/ Well 6. <br />2. City Council approves a 7% contingency of $7,665.00 for any unforeseen issues <br />that may arise during this project. <br />3. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to contract <br />modifications during construction of the Project on behalf of the City Council. <br />4.
