The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> <br />Item No: 05D <br />Meeting Date January 13, 2020 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />City Administrator Review: _____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9217, Vacation carry over for Don Peterson and <br />Nate Garland <br />Introduction: <br />Mounds View has adopted policy that includes a vacation earnings formula based on <br />years of service, vacation usage, and language addressing carry over. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />Due to extenuating circumstances, two employees have exceeded their carryover <br />threshold and have requested a 6 month (June 30, 2020) deadline by which to use the <br />excess; Don Peterson (40 hours) and Nate Garland (60.5 hours). <br /> <br />Staff has reviewed the situation and recommends approval and the HR Committee <br />comprised of Councilmembers Hull and Meehlhause recommend approval. <br /> <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Implement HR policies to recruit and retain staff and provide growth opportunities by <br />making salaries competitive and creating an enjoyable working environment. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />None. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends the Council adopt resolution 9217. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Nyle Zikmund <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
