Mounds View City Council January 27, 2020 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />the Council. The location of the school and trail crossing was described. He commented further 1 <br />on the improvements that would be made and recommended approval of the Plans and 2 <br />Specifications and authorizing the project for bid. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if the Street Improvement Fund would cover this cost. 5 <br />Finance Director Beer reported the City had enough funds in reserve to cover the expense of this 6 <br />project. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Meehlhause recommended the sewer lines along Sherwood Place be slip lined. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Mueller questioned if how long each of the projects would take. Public Works Director 11 <br />Peterson reported Sherwood Place would be completed in a day or two and Quincy Street would 12 <br />be a longer project. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Mayor Mueller requested Quincy Street be completed or be open for use by August 20th in order 15 <br />to accommodate the Festival in the Park parade. Public Works Director Peterson stated he would 16 <br />make the contractor aware of this requirement. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Finance Director Beer reported there would be no street improvement projects in 2021 as the 19 <br />City would be rebuilding its funds in order to complete more projects in 2022. 20 <br /> 21 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9229, 22 <br />Approving the Plans and Specifications and Authorizing Bidding for the 2020 Street Project. 23 <br /> 24 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 25 <br /> 26 <br />E. Resolution 9230, Approving the Plans and Specifications and Authorizing 27 <br />Bidding for Building Repairs at Wells 5 and 6. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve the Plans and Specifications and 30 <br />authorize biding for building repairs at Wells 5 and 6. He reported the City was working to 31 <br />rehabilitate its water treatment facilities. The project timeline was described. Staff reviewed the 32 <br />estimated expense for the repairs with the Council and recommended approval. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Mueller asked if the wells would remain in service during the repairs. Public Works 35 <br />Director Peterson reported the wells would remain in service and there would be no interruption 36 <br />in City services. 37 <br /> 38 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9230, 39 <br />Approving the Plans and Specifications and Authorizing Bidding for Building Repairs at Wells 5 40 <br />and 6. 41 <br /> 42 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 43 <br /> 44 <br />F.
